Waldo Madera started his career as a professional drummer at the age
of 15 with the Dominican-Brazilian groups "Maguey" and "Irka
& Tadeu Con Trabanda". Throughout their career, they played several times at the Montreal Jazz
Festival and also many other Jazz Festivals through out Canada, Dominican Republic and
Europe. Between 1987 to 1991 he studied at the Manhattan School of Music NY, and
soon after got the opportunity to play with some of the great Latin
Jazz artists such as Paquito D'Rivera, Rafael Cruz and Dave Valentine amongst
others.

In 1991 he moved to Mexico City and quickly started working in the local
jazz scene with some of the best Mexican artist such as Chilo Moran, Roberto
"Betuco" Arballo, Hector
Infanzon, Cristobal Lopez and many others. At
the same time he makes a name for himself in the pop industry as a session and
tour musician, working with many artist like Emmanuel, Ricardo Arjona, Pandora,
Jose Luis "El Puma" Rodriguez, Juan Luis Guerra,
Christian Castro, Francisco Cespedes, Edith Marquez, Ely Guerra, Sasha Socol, Muņecos
de Papel, Chantal, and Ricky Martin with whom he's been working on and off for
the past 8 years and is currently on tour.
He released his first solo album in
1995 under BMG/ Coyoacan Records and now he's is currently working on the next
release. The label
is yet to be known.

Waldo's work can be appreciated on Hector Infanzon's new CD
"Nos Toca", under the label Opsion Sonica.
